The digitalisation of society and the economy in particular represent a social and economic innovation in many respects - it is not for nothing that digitalisation is often referred to as the fourth industrial revolution, which as a basic innovation will fundamentally influence coexistence, the economy, but also the legal framework as the steam engine once did. Such fundamental changes in a global world, in which effects also quickly take hold via international migration of people and companies, demand a scientifically sound, interdisciplinary debate.
Increasing digitalisation creates new opportunities, but also challenges for large parts of the economy and society - also in Styria. The creation, availability, dissemination and use of knowledge and information is undergoing a major transformation. This has far-reaching implications for consumers, employees and the economic potential of entire regions, including the requirements for institutional and legal framework conditions.
This project aims to make the effects of digitalisation visible from an economic, sociological and legal point of view - especially for Styria and the domestic labour market - and to contribute solution proposals for necessary adaptations of economic policy.
